Wandering around Jordan gathers up thoughts of the Middle Eastern realm: it is an epitome of an ancient civilization wherein hospitality is the crowning jewel in the package of heritage sites and gorgeous natural landscape. From ancient civilization ruins to dusty adventures, Jordan transports you from one world to another.
Among its main land attractions is Petra, the famous "Rose-Red City" carved nearly 2,000 years ago. This UNESCO World Heritage Site remains a must-see for any tourist. Also worth mentioning is Wadi Rum – Untouched Desert of Red Sands and Scale Rock Formations, sometimes termed the “Between the Moons."
At the lowest elevation on earth, one ought to float, the water being so salty. Amman City, the capital, offers that great blend of modern contemporary culture with ancient sites, such as the spectacular Roman Theatre and Citadel.
From my excursions in Jerash among the striking ruins, hiking in wonderful nature reserves, or greedily gobbling traditional Jordanian cuisine, Jordan seems to mingle with me forever. This place is a mixture of culture, a little thrill, and unaccountable beauty.
